first in an exciting new series of original work by sought-after young choreographers

A sense of making places, and taking you places, is what you'll experience in this first installment where choreographers explore the past, present and future of place through an entirely new lens of dance. Featuring the work of Joshua L. Peugh, Jennifer Archibald and Gabrielle Lamb. Places marks the first time Peugh and Archibald will work with Ballet Memphis. Lamb will return to Ballet Memphis for a third time.

There are four seating options—Premiere ($72), A ($43), B ($22) and C (just $10.)

  • Wine chat with the choreographers & dancers - Thursday, February 4, 7p, at the Booksellers at Laurelwood. Discuss the show, their inspiration, music and costumes with this eclectic and fun crew. 
  • spark pre-show choreographer's chat - Friday, February 19, 6:30p, wine and cheese provided along with a chance to hear from the choreographers about their inspiration, process and results that you'll see on stage. Free event with your paid Friday night ticket.
  • Ballet Memphis School Alumni recognition event - Friday, February 19 - gather with your Ballet Memphis family in the cafe' at 6:30p for our choreographer's chat and be recognized as contributing to our more than 30-year history!   • Community Day - a pay-what-you-can event on the Saturday, February 20, 2p matinee is open to the community on a first-come, first-served basis. Limit 4 tickets per household. Will be available through the Ballet Memphis Box Office, 7950 Trinity Road, or 901-737-7322 starting August 1, 2015, or in-person at Playhouse starting February 15, 2016. Not available online. Minimum $5 credit card orders.
