... Back to work in the studio

The atmosphere in the studio is a little silly after an intense weekend performing Family Matters. It’s strange not having the choreographers here, and to slow the pace after working so hard to prepare for the show. The dancers put their all into it, and it’s not easy to go back to the beginning again. Even I still have the music and choreography for Crossing in my head.

Today some of the dancers were preparing for the season finale Taking Flight: A FedEx Hangar Experience which will take place on May 11. It was fun to watch them master part of this complex dance in which FedEx boxes are passed along, shaken and dropped, part of a longer piece choreographed by Petr Zahradnicek which includes gorgeous classical ballet blended with some modern industrial moves inspired by the hangar space.

In the next studio other company members were starting work on The Wizard of Oz. The energy and focus are building for the next show and beyond!
