Raising the barre on opening night

Last night I attended opening night of Family Matters . It was so great to see the whole show come together after seeing the rehearsal process. The costumes, lights, and sets added to the whole, and the theme of family ran strong through the night. Especially striking are the streamer curtain and lighting in the final piece set to Beck's music, High Lonesome . A flock of birds at the Kroc

In addition to understudying for parts in Family Matters , the trainees are preparing to perform at the opening of the Kroc Center on Saturday. They are dancing as birds, choreographed by Steven McMahon. Steven says, "With birds, you never know what you’re going to get." They could be sweet or they could try to hurt you.
