Junior Company members become storytellers "Boundless: Wonder"

Adding lights and costumes

Even though we're dancing in the same room in which we take daily class and rehearse, the transformation that happens when Studio A becomes a theatrical performance space is magical!  In the last 24 hours, the windows and mirrors were covered, the stage lights were focused and lighting cues written. After sunset last evening, Junior Company dancers put on make-up and costumes and did the final dress rehearsal of the six ballets we're performing this weekend. Here are a few photographs... Encore, first tech rehearsal

Excitement is building as the Junior Company nears their final performances of the year. Last night was our "technical/spacing" rehearsal, the final rehearsal before we add costumes and stage lighting to the ballets. The studio is partially transformed: scaffolding (called "booms") holding the lights are in place; the white backdrop (called a "cyc" -- short for cyclorama) is hung, although not yet stretched out smooth.
