VIRGINIA PILGRIM RAMEY is a native Memphian and first joined Ballet Memphis in 2001 after graduating from the Ballet Memphis School. Notable classical roles include Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, Sugar Plum in Nutcracker, and Kitri in the pas de deux from Don Quixote. Other roles include Betty in Shapiro & Smith’s George and Betty’s House, as well as Dorothy in Wizard of Oz, Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet, and Tiger Lily in Peter Pan, all by Steven McMahon. Ginny also has danced featured roles in Mark Godden’s Angels in the Architecture and Midsummer Night’s Dream, Julia Adam’s Devil’s Fruit, The Awakening, I Am A Child, and The Little Prince. She has worked with Matthew Neenan in The Darting Eyes and Party of the Year, Gabrielle Lamb in Manifold, and Reggie Wilson in I Am A Man. Ginny has performed on tour with Ballet Memphis across the nation. She has danced in many works by Trey McIntyre including in the world premieres of Barramundi, Pork Songs, The Naughty Boy, and In Dreams. From 2008-09, Ginny toured with Trey McIntyre Project, performing throughout the United States and around the world. Ginny teaches Ballet 7 & 8 at the Ballet Memphis School and is married to fellow Company member Brandon Ramey.
